A new limited-edition collection of Stanley cups in collaboration with the upcoming movie “Wicked” was released at Target on October 13th. The cups, inspired by characters in the film, come in 40-ounce and 20-ounce sizes in Glinda pink or Elphaba green. The release caused chaos at Target as customers rushed to get their hands on the popular cups, with some reports claiming there was nearly a brawl as people competed to purchase them.

Videos of the commotion at Target stores went viral, showing customers running through the aisles in search of the Stanley cups. Reports suggested that some customers tried to grab the cups out of the hands of others, causing tension and conflict among shoppers. Commenters on social media were appalled by the extreme behavior exhibited by customers, with some expressing embarrassment over the spectacle caused by the limited-edition cups.

Despite the chaos in stores, the Stanley cups from the “Wicked” collection are also available for purchase on Target’s website. The 40-ounce cups are priced at $55, while the 20-ounce cups are priced at $35. The movie “Wicked” is set to be released in theaters in the U.S. on November 22nd, making the limited-edition cups a highly sought-after collector’s item for fans of the film.

This isn’t the first time Stanley Tumblers have caused a frenzy at Target. Earlier this year, a limited-edition Valentine’s Day Stanley collection was released exclusively at Target stores, causing a similar scene of chaos as customers rushed to purchase the popular cups. The collection, which came in Cosmo Pink and Target Red, reportedly sold out in less than four minutes, further fueling the demand for the highly coveted Stanley cups among collectors and fans of the brand.

The viral videos of the chaos at Target stores over the Stanley cups generated mixed reactions from viewers and commenters on social media. Many were shocked by the extreme behavior exhibited by customers in their quest to purchase the limited-edition cups, while others expressed embarrassment or disappointment over the exaggerated response to a simple drinkware item. Despite the controversy surrounding the release of the Stanley cups, the popularity of the brand and the association with the movie “Wicked” have made them a collector’s item for fans and enthusiasts.

As demand for limited-edition Stanley cups continues to grow, the brand’s collaborations with popular movies and events have only increased the fervor surrounding their releases. The chaos at Target stores over the “Wicked” cups is just one example of the extreme reactions and behaviors that can be triggered by the limited availability of certain products. Whether it’s the allure of a special edition design or the association with a beloved movie, the Stanley cups have proven to be a magnet for collectors and fans looking to add a unique piece to their collection.
