rewrite this title Gen Zer freaks out over Billy Joel hit — calling out the piano man for ‘sinister vibes’

She’s got a way — of embarrassing herself.

A young user on X started the fire by dissing a universally beloved Billy Joel hit — bizarrely calling the chart-topper she heard for the first time in an Uber “sinister.”

In her initial post, Gen Zer @plumjae said she and three others were left in “dead silence” after hearing the tune on the car ride.

No, it wasn’t Joel’s spookier song “The Stranger” or the downright depressing Vietnam War epic “Goodnight Saigon” — but the spunky “Uptown Girl.”

The apparently troubling tune’s lyrics revolve around a blue-collar man working up the courage to woo a high society gal.

At first, despite feeling “the most sinister vibes ever,” the Gen Zer didn’t remember the song’s name until later posting its music video, which showed Long Island’s pride and joy donned up as a musical mechanic.

“I do not like the energy this song brought into the car,” she added.

The user even added that she feared the “Uber was just gonna drive us off the road.”

The social media big shot’s January 4 post quickly went viral for the longest time with 30 million views.

However, she was met with a stormfront of backlash as folks online weren’t afraid to tell her about it.

“Sorry to inform you there is not ONE Billy Joel song with ‘sinister vibes,’” one replied.

“I’ve now listened to this song 30 times in the last day bc of this tweet. I hope it’s grown on you since you first heard it [because] man, what a classic bop,” another added.

“Well, I’m glad you’re ok. That’s the important thing. Had it been Huey Lewis and the News, I’m not sure you’d have made it out,” a third snarked.

Regarding its so-called “vibes,” what is the 1983 “Uptown Girl” actually inspired by? You oughta know by now.

Joel initially drummed up the idea one night while spending time with his then-girlfriend, supermodel Elle Macpherson, Whitney Houston, and his future ex-wife, supermodel Christie Brinkley, in St. Barts, Brinkley told Howard Stern almost a decade ago.

Brinkley, who appears in the “Uptown Girl” music video, added that Joel told her, “‘I was writing a song about you, and I didn’t even know it.’”

In 1987, two years after they wed, Joel told Q Magazine, “The fact that I can attract such a beautiful woman as Christie should give hope to every ugly guy in the world.”
