That’s an expensive way of spreading holiday cheer.
Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Marissa Phillips showcased incredible team spirit this Christmas by giving each person on her 40-member squad a Dyson Airwrap — with the festive haul totaling a cool $24,000. She then shared a video of them unwrapping their luxury hair styling accessory in a video taking off on Instagram.
“I am giving these away to my best friends tonight so come along with me as I pull off the best surprise ever,” Phillips, 24, gushed at the beginning of the heartwarming clip, which showed her alongside a mountain of packaged presents.
“It’s kind of hard to get 40 girls in the same room at once, so we have a Christmas party tonight and my idea was surprising them all with [the Airwraps] after the Christmas Party, so I’m gonna have them all set up [and] arranged,” she added. “They have their names on them, and we wrapped them all, so yes, I did wrap 40 individual boxes with the help of my lovely fiancé.”
The clip then cuts to the squad members with their boxes as Philips gives them a quick speech about how they “deserve the world.”
The excited cheerleaders then rip into the presents and unveil the expensive hair tools, which cost $599.99 each, not including tax or shipping.
The squad members were over the moon about the heartwarming gesture. “There is absolutely no way,” one of the overjoyed team spirit boosters gushed.
“This was so iconic!! Thank you for doing this for us, we don’t deserve you,” fawned Cowboys cheerleader McKenna Gehrke in the comments. “I CANT WAIT to use.”
“I gotta admit…we rocked this surprise!” added team member Karley Swindel.
Commenters were similarly moved with one writing, “The reactions are everything.”
“How sweet and generous of you,” praised another. “Christmas isn’t always about the getting of gifts but the giving of joy.”
Dyson Airwraps, a hot ticket item for beauty buffs, allow users to dry, curl, smooth and “hide flyaways” sans “heat damage,” per the site.
It also comes with six attachments: a Coanda smoothing dryer, firm smoothing brush, soft smoothing brush, round volumizer, a 1.6′ barrel, and a 1.2′ barrel.
While a price tag of nearly $600 might seem steep, it appears possible that Phillips may have received some help from Dyson.
“Huge thank you to @dysonbeauty and @dysonusa for helping me pull off the biggest surprise to the girls who deserve it most! All the love,” she wrote in the caption to the video.
