Vince McMahon Takes Time Off and Reconnects with Trump Amid WWE’s Efforts to Distance Itself from Scandal-Ridden Former CEO

After resigning as executive chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment’s parent company, Vince McMahon is facing legal troubles including a lawsuit from a former employee accusing him of sexual abuse and trafficking. McMahon has denied the allegations and is also under federal investigation, although he hasn’t been charged. Despite this, McMahon has not had any contact with company leaders since resigning, including his son-in-law and daughter. McMahon has been keeping busy and seemingly unfazed by his legal battles, traveling, eating out, and keeping in touch with friends and associates.

Although McMahon is linked with WWE, which he bought from his father 42 years ago, sources say he has seemingly moved on with his life. He is also staying in touch with former President Donald Trump and other celebrities like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena. McMahon has been seen dining out in Manhattan, spending time with friends, and working out with his personal trainer. While his legal battles continue, McMahon remains optimistic that charges won’t be brought against him and that the lawsuit will be settled out of court.

The detailed allegations against McMahon in the lawsuit paint a stark contrast to how he is living his life post-resignation. McMahon’s legal battles also include a federal investigation into the allegations made by the former employee. McMahon is cooperating with authorities and believes that the civil case will be settled out of court. Despite this, he maintains his daily routines and continues to stay in touch with friends and associates, including former President Trump.

WWE, meanwhile, is transitioning post-McMahon with his daughter and son-in-law taking over leadership of the company. McMahon engineered a deal to merge WWE with Endeavor Group’s UFC to form TKO, where he holds the executive chairman position. The leadership at WWE has changed, and the company is moving forward under new management. The company has signed lucrative media rights deals and is charting its post-McMahon course. McMahon has sold hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of shares in TKO since his resignation, indicating his distance from WWE may be permanent.

As WWE moves on without McMahon, there have been reports of a more relaxed atmosphere at the company. Employees feel like they are on steadier ground and there is more freedom to make mistakes or suggest ideas compared to when McMahon was in charge. The current leadership operates more conventionally and gives employees opportunities to improve before taking action. The company has also signed significant media rights deals which will help shape its future in the post-McMahon era. Overall, WWE seems to be navigating its path forward without its former leader.
