Forbes is launching text message alerts to keep readers informed on the biggest stories of the day, sign up at (201) 335-0739. The Indiana Pacers made a stunning come back to defeat the New York Knicks in game seven of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, led by Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, and Aaron Nesmith. The Knicks lost their star Jalen Brunson to a fractured hand in the second half, finishing the game at a score of 130-109 in favor of the Pacers. This victory sends Pacers owner Herb Simon to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in a decade, where they will face off against the Boston Celtics.

The Celtics recently secured their spot in the Eastern Conference Finals with a gentleman’s sweep over the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite being the fourth most valuable team in the league at $4.7 billion, the Celtics have proved their dominance on the court and are poised to face off against the Pacers in a seven-game series. The Celtics are owned by a group of executives, including billionaire Irving Grousbeck and his son Wycliffe, bringing in significant revenue and operating income for the team.

Forbes estimates Pacers owner Herb Simon’s net worth at $4.8 billion, making him the 670th richest person in the world. The Pacers have brought in $263 million in revenue and $68 million in operating income, contributing to their success on and off the court. The Knicks, on the other hand, are the second most valuable team in the NBA at $6.6 billion, controlled by Madison Square Garden Sports and billionaire James Dolan. Dolan’s family is worth $5.2 billion, and the Knicks have an operating income of $169 million and revenue of $504 million.

The Pacers and Celtics are set to face off in the Eastern Conference Finals, with game one scheduled to take place in Boston on Tuesday night. This series will showcase the talents of the two best regular season teams in the Eastern Conference, promising an exciting matchup for fans. In the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks await the winner of the series between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets, with game seven set for Sunday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves find themselves in a heated ownership dispute between billionaire Glen Taylor and prospective buyers Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore. The $1.5 billion agreement to purchase the team has led to disagreements over the deadline for the transaction and awaiting NBA approval. Despite the off-court drama, the Timberwolves are making a playoff run, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the team’s future. Stay tuned for more updates on these developing stories from Forbes.
