Rory Feek, a country singer, denied accusations of putting his 10-year-old daughter Indiana in danger during an ongoing family dispute with his two eldest daughters, Heidi and Hopie. He shared a blog post defending himself against claims that he prohibited Indiana from seeing her sisters and explained that they can visit her any time but cannot stay overnight because they do not respect his conservative Christian values.
Feek explained that his older daughters want Indiana to be exposed to things that go against his values and principles, which is why he has limited their interaction. He emphasized that he is committed to raising Indiana in a way that aligns with what he believes his late wife, Joey, would have wanted. Additionally, he mentioned that Child Protective Services contacted him after his daughters allegedly tried to gather evidence against him by recording conversations with Indiana.
In his blog post, Feek addressed allegations that his daughters were left with members of an alleged cult while he went on his honeymoon with his new wife, Rebecca. He clarified that Indiana stayed with close family friends during that period and defended the group, Homestead Heritage, as an intentional Christian community, not a cult despite previous accusations of child sexual assault. Feek expressed his desire for reconciliation between Indiana and her sisters.
Heidi raised concerns about Indiana allegedly wandering into traffic unsupervised and being brought home by a stranger. Feek responded to these claims by stating that he went looking for Indiana when he realized she was missing and was relieved when she returned home safely. Heidi and Hopie also responded to Feek’s blog post, forgiving him for unkind words and expressing their love for their little sister, Indiana.
Feek’s daughters explained that they had been trying to contact him for months but had been unable to do so. They emphasized that love is shown through actions, not just words, and that their primary concern is their younger sister, Indiana. Feek shares Indiana with his late wife, Joey, who passed away in 2016. He also has two older daughters from a previous relationship. In July, Feek married Rebecca, who was Indiana’s school teacher. The family dispute continues, with Feek determined to stand by his values and protect Indiana’s well-being amidst the ongoing conflict with his older daughters.
