Renee Zellwegger and her younger lover, Leo Woodall, were recently spotted filming a cozy date night scene for the upcoming fourth installment of the Bridget Jones film series, titled “Mad About The Boy.” In the film, Renee’s character, Bridget, enjoys a fling with a hunky younger lover named Rockstar, portrayed by Leo, who is 27 years old. The on-screen couple was seen enjoying a date at The Electric Cinema in London’s Notting Hill, with Bridget looking giddy as she interacted with her new love interest. Renee was dressed in a short floral dress, black tights, and boots, while Leo wore a T-shirt, blue jacket, jeans, and brown suede boots.
In addition to her fling with Rockstar, the film will also see Bridget having a romance with PE teacher Mr. Walker, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, and rekindling her on-off relationship with Hugh Grant’s character, Daniel Cleaver. Chiwetel was seen filming scenes last week, leaving Hugh Grant and Colin Firth as the only main actors yet to be spotted in character. Renee and Leo were previously seen filming hilarious scenes where Bridget got stuck up a tree in Hampstead Heath, with Leo’s character, a park warden, coming to her rescue. Onlookers reported that both actors appeared to be having a great time, sharing laughs and getting along well on set.
Since arriving in London to film the fourth Bridget Jones movie, Renee Zellwegger has been busy reprising her iconic role as the lovable singleton. She filmed at ITV’s studios in White City, West London, where she interacted with presenters from shows such as This Morning and Loose Women. The studio staff was said to be excited and eager to get selfies with the Hollywood star, with the site buzzing with anticipation during filming. Bridget’s creator, Helen Fielding, has also been involved in the production process, as the film is expected to be released on Valentine’s Day next year.
In preparation for the new film, it was announced last month that Bridget’s weight-loss themes will be played down amid concerns that they might have a negative influence. The movie is set to follow Bridget as she navigates the dating scene following the death of her husband, Mark Darcy. With Leo Woodall’s character providing a youthful romantic interest for Bridget, fans of the beloved character will be eager to see how her story unfolds in the latest installment of the series. The film is anticipated to be a nostalgic return for viewers who have followed Bridget’s journey over the past films.
