The closure of a section of the A13 highway, connecting A86 to Vaucresson in the Hauts-de-Seine region to the Porte de Saint-Cloud in the west of Paris, has been extended until further notice, according to a statement released by the prefecture on the evening of April 26th. This closure was initially put in place due to the discovery of a transverse crack in the Saint-Cloud area, with works being done to ensure safety. However, minimal ground movements were observed, prompting the need for further investigations and analysis.

Following the discovery of the crack, the highway was closed in both directions on April 18th until initially scheduled for reopening on April 30th. Remedial work was done over the weekend to secure the area, but ongoing ground movements necessitated continued investigations. A meeting of experts is scheduled for April 29th to assess the situation and determine a reopening timeline. In the meantime, motorists are advised to use alternative routes such as the A12, N12, and N118 to avoid the closed section of the A13 between Paris and Vaucresson.

The A13 highway connects Paris to Caen in Normandy, passing through the south of Rouen and is a popular route for those traveling from Paris to the Normandy coast. The highway is managed by the Sanef company, except between Paris and Orgeval, where the French State, represented by the Direction of Roads of Ile-de-France (Dirif), is the manager. It is important for motorists to avoid the closed section and follow alternative routes as recommended by authorities, such as using the A12, N12, and N118 to reach Paris from Rocquencourt and Bois-d’Arcy in the Yvelines region, or utilizing the A15 or A86 further upstream to avoid congestion.

The ongoing closure of the A13 section has raised concerns about the state of roads in France. With traffic detours in place and a need for further analysis of the situation, it is crucial for motorists to plan their routes accordingly and avoid the closed section of the highway. The safety of the public remains a top priority, and efforts are being made to address the issues at hand and ensure a timely reopening of the affected highway section. Consideration of alternative routes and early planning is advised to minimize disruptions during this period of closure.

In light of safety concerns and ongoing ground movements, the closure of the A13 section between A86 and Vaucresson has been extended indefinitely until further investigations are completed. Efforts are being made to secure the area and determine a reopening timeline, with experts convening to assess the situation on April 29th. Motorists are urged to use alternative routes and avoid the closed section to ensure smooth travel and minimize disruptions, with recommended detours in place to minimize congestion in the affected area. Public safety remains the top priority during this period of closure, with continued monitoring and evaluation of the situation to address any issues that may arise.
