Brittany Cartwright was seen receiving alcohol via a delivery service shortly after filing for divorce from Jax Taylor. She was photographed in a blue bikini top and white towel at the front gate of her rental property in Sherman Oaks, California, where she received at least one bottle of liquor in a black plastic bag. Cartwright appeared to be keeping a low profile, as she wore her hair up in a bun and had no makeup on. Her wedding band was noticeably missing from her left ring finger, as she had filed for divorce from Taylor earlier that day, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
In her divorce petition to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Cartwright requested full legal and physical custody of their 3-year-old son Cruz, while allowing visitation rights to Taylor. She also sought to keep all assets she acquired by gift, inheritance, before marriage, or after the date of separation. In addition to being co-stars on “The Valley,” both Cartwright and Taylor co-own a sports bar called Jax’s Studio City and co-host a podcast titled “When Reality Hits.” The couple had tied the knot in Taylor’s home state of Kentucky in June 2019.
Around the same time that Cartwright filed for divorce, she posted a photo on Instagram showing herself in full glam with the caption “Getting my sparkle back.” This post hinted at her readiness to move forward after the breakup. Meanwhile, Taylor, who had previously admitted to cheating on Cartwright while they were dating, had checked himself into a mental health facility to address his anger issues and work on himself for the sake of their son Cruz. He has not publicly addressed the breakup as he continues to focus on his treatment.
During the Season 1 finale of “The Valley,” which aired in June, Cartwright had opened up to her co-stars about Taylor’s behavior, describing him as becoming “mean as a f–king snake” when dealing with frequent hangovers. This sheds light on some of the underlying issues in their relationship that may have contributed to their split. The couple announced their separation in February, following a rollercoaster relationship that was documented on reality TV.
Despite the challenges they faced, Cartwright and Taylor had built a life together with their businesses, their son, and their shared television projects. The breakup and divorce filing marked the end of a chapter in their lives, but both seemed focused on moving forward and creating new beginnings. As Cartwright began the process of legally ending their marriage, Taylor continued to focus on his mental health journey and taking care of himself. Their split signaled a new phase for both individuals as they navigated the aftermath of their high-profile breakup.
