A fire broke out near Büyük Anafartalar Village in the district of Eceabat in Çanakkale. The fire in the forested area grew rapidly due to strong winds. Upon notification, numerous air and ground teams from the Forestry Regional Directorate were dispatched to the area. Additional support was also requested from municipalities to extinguish the fire. The teams that arrived at the scene started aerial and ground firefighting efforts to control the fire.

Two forest workers were injured and some workers were affected by smoke. Two forest workers were injured as a result of a collision with a car while driving to the scene in a pickup truck, and they were taken to Eceabat State Hospital by 112 Emergency Health teams. It was reported that the general health condition of the injured workers was good. Some forest workers affected by smoke were also admitted to the same hospital for treatment. Gendarmerie teams distributed water to the workers fighting the fire.

The Çanakkale Battles Gallipoli Historical Area Directorate announced that precautions had been taken regarding visits due to the fire. The statement mentioned that access to the Northern Line of the Historical Area (Kabatepe Day Trip Area, Sunken Ship, Mimoza, 57th Regiment, Conbayır) had been stopped until a second announcement. Governor Ömer Toraman of Çanakkale stated on his social media account that the fire did not pose a risk to residential areas. Toraman emphasized the diligent efforts of all teams, especially the forestry organization, in fighting the fire. He shared information that 8 planes, 12 helicopters were being used for aerial intervention, and 51 fire trucks and 780 personnel were involved in ground intervention.

An announcement from the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD) Directorate stated that support from personnel and vehicles from neighboring provinces and districts had been provided for firefighting efforts. The announcement assured that there was no need for evacuation due to the fire in residential areas. The teams continue their firefighting efforts in the region. The Governor and relevant authorities reassured the public that all necessary measures were being taken to control the fire and ensure the safety of the residents in the affected areas.
