Brooke Shields’s Preferred Fitness Routine: Pilates and Cardio

Brooke Shields, at the age of 59, understands that her approach to fitness needs to change as she gets older. After a recent health scare involving a seizure, she realized the importance of taking care of her body. Shields admits that staying in shape is more challenging now, but she has found exercises that she enjoys, such as the Nofar Method Pilates and cardio workouts like SoulCycle or rowing. These routines have helped her reduce belly fat, especially as she noticed weight gain in her stomach for the first time.

The actor has also adjusted her habits after experiencing a seizure, which was caused by low sodium levels due to excessive water consumption. Shields has learned to pace herself with drinking water and not overload her system. Reflecting on the incident, she remembers feeling faint and collapsing during a visit to a restaurant, eventually needing to be loaded into an ambulance. Doctors explained that too much water can dilute sodium levels, leading to seizures.

Approaching her 60th birthday, Shields feels grateful for the past decade and the growth she has experienced. She acknowledges that she has learned to harness her own power and not rely on others to dictate how she should feel or act. Starting her own company, Commence, and seeing it grow into a successful brand has been a significant achievement for her. Shields values connecting with her community and empowering women to feel included and valued in the industry.

In terms of fitness, Shields credits her time in Broadway shows for helping her stay in shape without even realizing it. She has now incorporated difficult Pilates sessions and cardio workouts into her routine to maintain her fitness levels. By focusing on exercises that she enjoys and not just working out to fit into clothes, Shields has found a sustainable way to stay in shape as she gets older. She emphasizes the importance of finding activities that bring joy and fulfillment in addition to physical benefits.

As she approaches her milestone birthday, Shields is embracing the changes that come with aging and focusing on self-care and personal growth. She recognizes the importance of investing in herself and her brand while staying connected to her community. Shields encourages women to feel empowered and included in all aspects of life, emphasizing the value of authenticity and independence. By taking control of her fitness and overall well-being, Shields is setting a positive example for others as she enters this new chapter of her life.
