Calling for urgent action, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of resolving these issues as time is running out for the affected children who are being taught to hate their homeland. Despite 106 nations sending senior-level representatives to the summit, Zelenskyy expressed disappointment at the absence of some world leaders, with the U.S. not confirming President Joe Biden’s attendance yet.
During the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Zelenskyy reiterated his call for Asian nations to support Ukraine in the peace process. He emphasized the need for Asia to understand the situation in Ukraine and provide political and humanitarian support, rather than military assistance. Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had never demanded military support from Asian countries, but rather sought their solidarity in ending the war and supporting Ukrainian civilians. He urged Asian countries to participate in the summit to demonstrate their commitment to peace and prevent Russia from derailing the peace process.
Zelenskyy announced his intention to meet with Singapore’s Prime Minister and President, expressing his desire for Singaporean leaders to personally participate in the peace summit.
