Police officers examine the scene where two men were shot dead in Sevran, Seine-Saint-Denis, on May 5, 2024. The Parisian judicial police are proud of the quick investigation they have conducted, which has led to the arrest of Mohamed B., a 49-year-old man strongly suspected of being involved in the double murder. The victims, aged 33 and 35, were known for their involvement in violence and drug trafficking. Mohamed B. was apprehended in Bobigny, another city in the same department, and was placed in custody at the criminal brigade headquarters in Paris. His lawyer, Me Denis Giraud, confirmed that Mohamed B. had not yet made a statement regarding the accusations.

Mohamed B., also known as “Cauchemar”, has a criminal record and was previously convicted for a homicide in 2007. The victim, Rabah Messaoudi, was an acquaintance from the drug business who Mohamed B. accused of stealing cannabis from him. Represented by Me Denis Rigaud and Eric Dupond-Moretti, who is now the Minister of Justice, Mohamed B. was sentenced to eighteen years in prison. His recent arrest comes during a wave of homicides and attempted homicides related to drug trafficking in Seine-Saint-Denis. There have been multiple incidents in the past few days, with several individuals being killed or injured in violent altercations. These incidents highlight the increasing violence in the department, which is known for being a hotspot for drug dealing in the Paris region.

The police are investigating Mohamed B. in connection to a previous attempted homicide that occurred in late 2023 in Seine-Saint-Denis. He has not yet provided any information regarding these allegations. Mohamed B.’s criminal history and his involvement in various criminal activities suggest a pattern of violence and illegal behavior. The recent spate of violence in Seine-Saint-Denis is a cause for concern and requires a thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The series of homicides and attempted homicides in Seine-Saint-Denis have raised concerns about the level of violence in the region. The police are working to solve these cases and bring the perpetrators to justice. The arrest of Mohamed B. is a significant step towards holding individuals accountable for their actions and preventing further violence in the area. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the double murder in Sevran and the possible links to other criminal activities in the region.

The incidents of violence in Seine-Saint-Denis are not isolated and are part of a broader trend of criminal activity in the department. The police are working to address these issues and ensure the safety of residents in the area. The arrest of Mohamed B. is a reminder of the importance of law enforcement efforts in combating crime and maintaining public safety. The investigation into the double murder in Sevran is ongoing, and the police are committed to bringing those responsible to justice.
