She and her twin sister, Abbey, joined the dance team in fall 2023, where she was known for her infectious smile and beloved by her teammates and coaches. In addition to being a talented dancer, Kaufling was also described as an exceptional student who took her academics seriously while studying in the College of Nursing. Symptoms include bone or joint pain, swelling, and unexplained bone fractures. Kaufling did not frequently update on her health journey on social media, but she did share a post on January 6 announcing the end of her chemotherapy treatment and expressing gratitude for the support she received.
