The Yusufeli Dam, which is the highest in Turkey and the fifth highest in the world with a height of 275 meters, has recently been put into operation. As a result, the district center that was submerged underwater has been relocated to a new settlement. The Yusufeli Central Viaduct, which is currently under construction, will shorten the transportation route to the new settlement by 16 kilometers.

According to officials from the Artvin Governorate, 99.5% of the special design viaduct, part of the road network modification caused by the Yusufeli Dam and HEPP, has been completed. Along with the Şilenkar, Dam, and Tekkale viaducts, this special design viaduct is one of four viaducts being built in the region. The necessary connections have been completed and the final touches on the viaduct, such as lighting and asphalt paving, are currently being carried out by the construction teams.

The Yusufeli Merkez Viaduct is a 685-meter-long structure with a steel construction upper deck that has been built using the push-slip method. It is set to be opened to traffic in the first week of June. The construction of this viaduct is part of a larger project to improve the road network in the area due to the construction of the Yusufeli Dam and HEPP. It is expected to provide a more efficient and direct route for transportation in the region, benefiting both residents and travelers.

The completion of the Yusufeli Merkez Viaduct marks a significant milestone in the overall development of the region. The relocation of the submerged district center and the construction of this viaduct will not only provide a more convenient transportation option but will also contribute to the economic growth of the area. The project showcases the commitment of the government to improving infrastructure and connectivity in remote regions of Turkey, ultimately aiming to enhance the overall quality of life for residents.

With the final touches being carried out on the viaduct, including the completion of the lighting and asphalt paving, the project is nearing its completion. Once opened to traffic, the Yusufeli Merkez Viaduct is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity in the region. The completion of the viaduct will mark a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to modernize and improve infrastructure in Turkey, particularly in remote areas like Yusufeli.

Overall, the construction of the Yusufeli Merkez Viaduct represents a major infrastructure development project in Turkey. By providing a more direct and efficient transportation route, the viaduct will benefit both local residents and travelers passing through the area. As part of the larger project to improve the road network in the region, the viaduct is set to play a key role in enhancing connectivity and driving economic growth in the area.
