The ad also points out Baldwin’s support for amnesty for “11 million illegal immigrants,” including criminals, and references an illegal immigrant arrested for assaults, including the groping of a 13-year-old girl. One Nation’s President and CEO Steven Law criticized Baldwin for making Wisconsin communities less safe by supporting federal funding for sanctuary cities. Baldwin’s campaign did not provide a comment to Fox News Digital. Earlier this year, Baldwin voted against continuing with an impeachment trial for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, citing a lack of evidence and political motives.
Despite Baldwin’s support for a border security bill negotiated by senators from different parties, the measure ultimately failed to garner Republican support. Many Republicans claimed the bill would worsen the existing border crisis. Baldwin and other Democrats have accused the GOP of being unwilling to take action on the southern border. In a July Fox News Poll, Baldwin led her Republican challenger, businessman Eric Hovde, 54-43%. Hovde won the GOP nomination for Senate in Wisconsin, solidifying his position as Baldwin’s opponent in the upcoming election.
