Later on Saturday night, officers responded to a gunfight detected by Commerce City’s gunshot monitoring system. A stolen vehicle with three occupants fled from the scene, eventually crashing. One male passenger was found dead inside the vehicle. Another passenger and the driver were injured in the crash and taken into custody. At the scene, officers discovered a male who had been shot dead in the yard of a residence. The victims and others involved were believed to be juveniles, according to the police. Investigators stated that there was no known connection between the various shootings in Commerce City.
In Aurora, a separate fatal shooting occurred in a nightclub parking lot, with details about the deceased not immediately released. A second victim, a 34-year-old man, was shot multiple times but managed to get to the hospital on his own and was expected to survive. Around the same time, a shooting at a housing complex left a man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, while a second man was stabbed but expected to survive.
