Lt. Col. Noor Bobalil, the Nahal patrol commander, revealed that his unit had been operating inside al Shifa Hospital for three days. The IDF claimed to have killed around 170 terrorists in the hospital and arrested 800 others. However, the World Health Organization and the United Nations have condemned the fighting in hospitals, as doctors are struggling to care for patients amidst the ongoing battles. The weapons seized included explosives, anti-tank landmines, grenade launchers, missiles, rockets, assault rifles, and handguns. Shin Bet officials attributed the weapons to Iran’s Unit 4,000, a special operations division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, with the intention of launching attacks against Israel. They also implicated senior Fatah official Munir Makdah, residing in a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, in the smuggling operation. Intelligence officers are now working with the IDF to locate additional Iranian weapons believed to have been smuggled into the West Bank.
