A 15-year-old boy from Washington state is accused of murdering his parents and three of his siblings inside their home. The boy, whose identity has not been publicly disclosed due to his age, appeared in court for a hearing at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center in Seattle. Prosecutors requested that the teen be charged with five counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder, while his defense attorney mentioned that the teen had no prior criminal record. The judge also implemented a no-contact order between the teen and his surviving sister, an 11-year-old girl who was shot twice but managed to escape from the home during the early morning shooting.

The incident occurred in Fall City, with deputies responding to a shooting at the home around 5 a.m. One teen was taken into custody at the scene, while another injured juvenile was transported to a hospital in Seattle. Upon entering the home, deputies found the bodies of two adults and three juveniles, believed to have been shot to death. The surviving 11-year-old girl was in stable condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The 15-year-old suspect was taken to King County’s juvenile detention facility, with no additional arrests expected at the time.

The parents of the accused teen were identified as Mark and Sarah Humiston, with Mark working as an electrical engineer. Details about the family were scarce, but neighbors mentioned that the couple had five children, were polite, and home-schooled their kids. The community came together to hold a vigil for the family in light of the tragic events. Authorities have not released the names or causes of death of the victims. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as officials work to piece together what led to the horrific event.

The teen suspect waived his right to appear in court for the hearing, with a charging decision anticipated later in the week. The judge’s no-contact order prevented the young boy from communicating with his surviving sister. The King County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the case, with spokesman Mike Mellis stating that the victims appeared to have been shot to death. The tragic incident shocked the small town of Fall City, with neighbors and community members expressing their sorrow and disbelief at the loss of life.

The surviving 11-year-old girl managed to escape the home and get medical assistance for her injuries. Initial reports suggested that the injured individual was a teenager, but it was later clarified to be the young girl. The tragic murder of the parents and three children has left the community reeling from the devastation. The mother, father, and siblings who lost their lives were described as a kind and helpful family by neighbors, who shared their memories of interactions with them. As more details emerge from the investigation, the community continues to mourn the loss as they come together to support one another during this difficult time.
