Additionally, he pledged to protect the rights of families to use in-vitro fertilization, drawing from his personal experience with IVF.
Republican legislative leaders expressed their support for tougher sentences for straw buyers but objected to linking this proposal with other gun control measures. They emphasized previous challenges faced by Republicans regarding this issue. The main focus of the current legislative session is a public infrastructure borrowing package, and bipartisan cooperation will be necessary to pass it. Walz proposed a package focusing on maintaining existing infrastructure, affordable housing, and a new State Patrol headquarters.
