A car accident occurred in the Büyükçekmece district of Istanbul on the E5 highway towards Edirne around 01:45. According to reports, the car driven by E.M. lost control and rear-ended a truck driven by S.G., causing the car to go under the truck.
Upon receiving reports from witnesses of the accident, police, firefighters, and medical teams rushed to the scene. It was discovered that the truck driver was injured in the accident, while the driver of the car that went under the truck, E.M., and the passenger in the front seat, Ahmet Andırın, were trapped inside the vehicle.
After the rescue efforts by the firefighters, the driver E.M. was safely extracted from the vehicle and taken to the hospital with injuries. Medical teams determined that the passenger in the front seat, Ahmet Andırın, had unfortunately lost his life at the scene.
Following the completion of investigations by the crime scene investigation teams and the prosecutor on duty, the body of Ahmet Andırın was placed in a body bag and taken to the nearest hospital morgue by ambulance. The car that was trapped under the truck was eventually removed from the scene by the firefighters, and the police initiated an investigation into the accident.
