The Brits’ love for tea has been revealed through a survey that names Yorkshire Tea as the nation’s favourite brand. The study was conducted by Britsuperstore and showed that Green Tea surprisingly beat out English Breakfast for the top spot. Brits are known for their love of tea, and arguments often arise over how to make the perfect cuppa. The survey also found that Lotus Biscoff is the top biscuit to pair with tea.

The study was inspired by a Grocer survey that found 45% of Brits drink tea 2-5 times a day, with an average of 50 billion cups consumed each year. The United Kingdom Tea and Infusions Association reported that 44% of Brits enjoy a biscuit with their tea. Yorkshire Tea emerged as the most popular brand, with 18% of people searching for it online. Green Tea was the favourite flavour, beating Black Tea from the previous year. Birmingham was named the “Tea Capital” of the UK, with the highest number of tea-related searches on Google.

Tea quality was cited as the most crucial factor by 71% of Brits, while 31% considered price to be the most important aspect, despite a 16% cost increase last year. A study by The Caterer found that tea sales are growing in the UK and account for 46% of all hot beverage sales. The Britsuperstore study also highlighted that Yorkshire Tea is the most popular brand, Green Tea is the preferred flavor, and Lotus Biscoff is the top choice for biscuit dunking.

The research revealed that tea is a significant part of British culture, with over 50 billion cups consumed annually. The study showed that arguments often arise over the perfect cup of tea, including the amount of milk used. Yorkshire Tea was crowned the nation’s favourite brand, and pairing it with a Lotus Biscoff biscuit was a popular choice. The survey also identified trends in tea consumption, preferences, and habits, such as the popularity of Green Tea over Black Tea, and Birmingham being a hub for tea-related searches.

Tea remains a beloved beverage in the UK, with Brits showing a strong preference for brands like Yorkshire Tea. Green Tea has overtaken classics like English Breakfast in popularity, reflecting changing tastes among consumers. The study by Britsuperstore sheds light on the country’s tea-drinking habits and preferences, showcasing the importance of a good cuppa in British culture. Whether enjoyed alone or with a biscuit, tea continues to hold a special place in the hearts of the British people.
