UK bracing for up to 3cm of snow in 24 hours as ‘final major wintry blast’ of 2024 arrives

Snow is forecasted to fall in some parts of the UK on Wednesday, with up to 3cm expected in various regions just days after a mini-heatwave. Scotland is expected to bear the brunt of this snowfall, with areas in the northeast potentially seeing some snow. Despite these projections, the Met Office and BBC Weather team have not mentioned any impending snowfall for the third day of the working week, with forecasts suggesting a mostly dry and bright day with temperatures around average.

James Madden from Exacta Weather had previously forecasted a wintry blast in mid-April, which could bring snow to lower levels of the country. The current weather charts show parts of Cairngorms National Park with up to 3cm of snow by 10am. There is a potential for a wintry blast in mid-spring that could bring snow to lower levels in parts quite far south for the time of the year. Despite these forecasts, the Met Office and BBC Weather have different predictions for the weather in the upcoming days, with the Met Office expecting a mostly dry and bright day with showers and patchy rain in the west.

Parts of north-east Scotland could see snow on Wednesday, according to Ventusky weather maps. However, the Met Office forecast for tonight indicates a dry night with some clear skies and patchy frost in rural spots. The forecast for Wednesday hints at a chilly start but mostly dry and bright conditions. The BBC’s take on the weather also suggests a mostly dry and bright day, with some showers mainly in the afternoon. Despite the mix of forecasts, it seems that a wintry blast is expected to hit some parts of the UK, bringing snow to lower levels in mid-spring.

In other news, Frankie Bridge’s ‘beautiful’ H&M trench coat is being praised for being cheaper than similar coats from M&S and River Island. This fashion update contrasts with the weather forecast, as the UK braces for potentially snowy conditions in some regions. It is important to stay updated with the weather forecasts and be prepared for any changes in the weather, especially if you are in areas that are expected to experience snowfall. Stay warm and safe during this upcoming wintry blast in mid-April.
