The UK is facing wind and rain warnings following the departure of Storm Kathleen, with gusts of up to 70mph expected. Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna warned of unsettled conditions and more wind and rain through Monday and into Tuesday. Temperatures in the northern UK will reach about 12C, while the South and South East will experience outbreaks of rain. Parts of southern England will see strong winds and high spring tides with gusts forecasted to reach 40-50mph inland and 60-70mph along exposed coasts.

Saturday recorded the warmest day of the year so far, with a maximum temperature of 20.9C in Suffolk. Strong winds and large coastal waves may cause disruption in parts of England and Wales. Areas like Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are set to experience strong winds, while the South West, London, and the South East will also have unsettled conditions. Coastal conditions could be hazardous, especially along the England Channel coastline, with some travel disruptions expected.

On Monday, a low-pressure system will bring further wet and windy weather to southwest England and Wales. High spring tides combined with coastal winds may lead to flooding. The outlook for Tuesday to Thursday remains unsettled with wet and windy weather, punctuated by brief drier spells. Temperatures are expected to be around average, with the possibility of turning warmer and more settled in the south by Wednesday.

The Met Office issued yellow weather warnings for wind and rain in various parts of the UK, including north-west England, Wales, and Scotland. Some areas in Scotland could see heavy and persistent downpours, leading to potential flooding. The warnings highlighted the risk of transport disruption and flooding affecting homes and businesses. A woman in Westcliff, Southend-on-Sea, was photographed getting hit with spray as the country braces for the impact of the weather front following Storm Kathleen’s departure.

In conclusion, the UK is bracing for more disruptive weather in the form of strong winds, heavy rain, and potential flooding after Storm Kathleen moves away. The Met Office has issued warnings for various regions in the UK, urging residents to be prepared for hazardous conditions. Temperatures are expected to remain around average, with a possibility of warmer and more settled weather towards the end of the week. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the turbulent weather conditions.
