San Antonio Brahmas head coach Wade Phillips is enjoying the success of his team, sitting at 5-2 and tied for the top spot in the XFL Conference. Phillips credits their ability to win close games and overcome fourth-quarter deficits to the uniqueness of the spring league’s rules. The Brahmas have a chance to secure a postseason spot with a win against the defending XFL champion Arlington Renegades, who recently earned their first victory of the season. The San Antonio defense has been key, holding teams to 15 points per game over the past three matchups, with standout performances from safety Jordan Mosley and linebackers Tavante Beckett and Jordan Williams.

UFL kickers have been making headlines with their accuracy from long distances, hitting 25 of 33 field goals from 50-plus yards and five field goals from 60-plus yards. This level of consistency is impressive compared to NFL kickers, who made 69.5% of field goals from 50-plus yards last season. St. Louis Battlehawks head coach Anthony Becht is focused on bouncing back after a tough loss to the Birmingham Stallions and securing a spot in the postseason. The Battlehawks face the Defenders this week, with QB AJ McCarron potentially sidelined due to an ankle injury. St. Louis will turn to Brandon Silvers or backup Manny Wilkins if McCarron is unable to play.

St. Louis receiver Hakeem Butler has emerged as one of the top pass catchers in the UFL, leading the league in receiving yards and touchdowns through seven games. The Battlehawks are looking to rebound after a difficult loss and secure a spot in the UFL Championship Game. In other injury news, Michigan Panthers will be without interception leader Kai Nacua against Memphis, and QB Troy Williams is sidelined for Memphis with a rib injury. Houston Roughnecks have made roster changes to address injuries, signing linebackers Christian Sam and D’Juan Hines for depth.

While the focus is on the upcoming matchups and playoff implications, the excitement of the UFL season continues to build. The UFL kickers have showcased their talent with impressive field goal percentages from long distances, adding to the excitement of the games. The Battlehawks are determined to bounce back from a tough loss and secure a postseason berth, while the Renegades and Defenders look to play spoiler for their opponents. As the regular season winds down, teams are making roster adjustments to address injuries and prepare for the postseason push. The intensity of the competition and the unpredictability of the outcomes keep fans on the edge of their seats as they anticipate the upcoming matchups in Week 8 of the UFL season.
