Two things that made eating healthy and exercising easier for a woman who lost 105 pounds

Megan Tjelle lost a total of 105 pounds through a combination of walking, eating healthy in a calorie deficit, and utilizing the appetite-suppressing weight loss drug Wegovy. She initially started her weight loss journey by making small lifestyle changes such as opting for home-cooked meals and increasing her physical activity. Tjelle, who has PCOS, struggled with her weight due to overeating and lack of exercise, and decided to make a change when her weight reached 246 pounds. She managed to lose 55 pounds through diet and walking alone before turning to Wegovy to lose an additional 50 pounds.

Despite facing challenges such as overeating and struggling to develop healthy habits, Tjelle maintained her determination and commitment to her weight loss journey. She found success by gradually incorporating changes into her lifestyle, such as walking daily, prepping healthy meals, and reducing her intake of sugary drinks. Tjelle also joined a local meal delivery service for balanced meals and sought medical advice when considering the use of Wegovy to help silence her food cravings and continue losing weight. As she progressed on her journey, she noticed improvements in her health, including easing symptoms of plantar fasciitis and regaining regular menstrual periods.

Taking a maintenance dose of Wegovy and continuing her healthy habits, Tjelle has managed to maintain her weight loss and plans to do so as long as her insurance covers it. She has developed a love for fitness, participating in activities such as running and resistance training, and aims to eat healthily most of the time while allowing herself occasional indulgences. Tjelle reflects on the changes in the way people treat her now that she is slimmer, noting the concept of “thin privilege” and increased attention from men. Despite the external validation, her main takeaway from her weight loss journey is the realization of her own capabilities and determination to live a healthier and happier life.

Throughout her weight loss journey, Megan Tjelle faced obstacles such as overeating, lack of exercise, and struggling with her self-image, but she overcame these challenges through determination, commitment, and gradual lifestyle changes. By making small adjustments to her diet, increasing her physical activity, and seeking medical help when needed, Tjelle achieved significant weight loss and improvements in her overall health.
