Tucker Carlson’s Team Refutes Claims of Having Show on Russian TV as “Pure Nonsense”

Tucker Carlson’s representative has denied reports that he launched a show on Russian-owned state television, stating that the reports were “pure nonsense” and indicating that Carlson was not involved with the show listed on a Russian state television channel. Neil Patel, CEO of the Tucker Carlson Network, also stated that the network has not done any deals with state media in any country. Despite this denial, clips of Carlson’s show with Russian voiceovers were found on the state-owned media channel Rossiya 24, with Carlson being described as having criticized the US authorities for aiding Ukraine.

The clips found on Rossiya 24 appear to be old clips from Carlson’s show that have been aired on X and YouTube since he was fired from Fox News. The Daily Beast reported that Monday’s episode, which discussed ticks, was originally aired in the US on May 10. This discovery has raised questions about whether Carlson was involved with the show on Rossiya 24, especially considering his previous denial of working with Russian state television. This is not the first time reports have surfaced about Carlson launching a show in Russia, as similar rumors were denied by Carlson last September.

Tucker Carlson announced the launch of his own show, “The Tucker Carlson Show,” on social media in May 2023, shortly after being dropped by Fox News following a settlement with Dominion Voting Systems. His first episode aired last June and covered a variety of topics, including UFOs and the Russia-Ukraine war. In February, Carlson aired a controversial interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the first with a western media figure since Russia invaded Ukraine. Putin used the interview to defend Russia’s actions in Ukraine and argue for Moscow’s historic claim to the country.

Despite the denial from Carlson’s representative about his involvement with the show on Rossiya 24, the presence of clips from his show with Russian voiceovers raises questions about the extent of his connections to Russian state television. The controversy surrounding Carlson’s potential ties to Russian media comes in the wake of his departure from Fox News and the launch of his own show, which has covered a range of topics including the Russia-Ukraine war. The reports have sparked further interest and scrutiny into Carlson’s potential involvement with Russian state television and the content of his show on Rossiya 24.
