The investigation into the metrobus accident in Sefaköy, where a metrobus traveling towards Beylikdüzü collided with an oncoming metrobus, is ongoing at the Küçükçekmece Republic Prosecutor’s Office.
Initial statements regarding the metrobus accident have been obtained by TRT Haber. The metrobus driver stated in his initial statement to the police that he was not informed about road works being conducted. He claimed that when he noticed the white vehicle on the road, he hit the brakes and, upon seeing two people in the vehicle, he turned the steering wheel to avoid harming them.
On August 30, 2024, a supervisor also stated that the responsibility lies with the six workers who were conducting road maintenance. He stated, “There was nothing under our control. It was the duty of the workers to put up the necessary signs and markers.”
Eight suspects were taken to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station, while two suspects were released. The investigation aims to determine the cause of the accident and hold those responsible accountable for the collision.
