Tony Bobulinski, Former Hunter Biden Business Associate, Accuses Democrats of Spreading ‘Lies’ in Heated Impeachment Hearing

In a House Oversight Committee hearing, Hunter Biden’s ex-business partner, Tony Bobulinski, accused Democrats of lying to the media and defended his successful business career. Bobulinski claimed to possess evidence showing President Joe Biden profited from his son’s business deals in China, but these claims have not been verified, and other witnesses have stated the president was not involved in his son’s business ventures. The hearing appeared to be a last-ditch effort in the GOP-led impeachment probe, as Republicans acknowledge it may be coming to a close.

During the hearing, Bobulinski accused Rep. Jamie Raskin and Rep. Dan Goldman of lying to the media, and also claimed Hunter Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, tried to smear him. Raskin questioned Bobulinski’s credibility, while another Democrat reportedly shouted insults at him. The hearing included testimony from Bobulinski, former Hunter Biden business partner Jason Galanis, and former Rudy Giuliani associate Lev Parnas. Hunter Biden declined to participate in the hearing, with Lowell calling it an attempt to throw a “Hail Mary pass.”

Raskin criticized Bobulinski for making vague allegations against the Bidens and accused him of being part of a press conference orchestrated by the Trump campaign in 2020. He also mentioned the possibility of the GOP making criminal referrals to the Justice Department based on their findings, but stated that the only crimes they have seen are from their own star witnesses, including Alexander Smirnov, who was recently indicted by the FBI for allegedly lying to the agency. Raskin highlighted the lack of evidence showing the president’s direct involvement in his son’s business deals.

Parnas, in his testimony, reiterated his claims that any incriminating information about the Bidens was Russian disinformation. He accused Fox News anchors and Trump allies of pushing a false narrative and stated that those involved in the shadow diplomacy knew the Biden corruption rumors were baseless. Parnas, who was convicted of fraud and campaign finance violations for his actions in the 2018 midterms, worked with Giuliani to investigate Biden in Ukraine. The hearing was marked by partisan clashes and diverging accounts of the Bidens’ business dealings.

Overall, the House Oversight Committee hearing with Bobulinski, Galanis, and Parnas shed little new light on the allegations surrounding the Bidens. Bobulinski’s claims remain unverified, and multiple witnesses have stated that the president was not involved in his son’s business ventures. The hearing marks a potential end to the GOP-led impeachment probe, with many Republicans conceding that there is insufficient evidence to implicate President Joe Biden in any wrongdoing related to his son’s business activities. The partisan divide over the allegations continues to be a point of contention in Washington.
