Drug Enforcement Branch teams conducted simultaneous operations in the districts of Artuklu, Kızıltepe, Nusaybin, and Midyat targeting individuals involved in drug trafficking. With the participation of 290 police officers and the use of drones, searches were carried out with the help of detector dogs at 28 addresses in the districts. During the operation, 160 grams of skunk, 20 grams of heroin, 1 gram of methamphetamine, synthetic pharmaceutical drugs, 6 unlicensed handguns, an unlicensed hunting rifle, 327 handgun bullets, 2 precision scales, and 4 coins evaluated as historical artifacts were seized.
Twelve suspects were taken into custody during the operation. Following the procedures at the police station, 3 of the suspects were imprisoned while the rest were released under judicial control. The seized drugs and weapons are believed to have been part of a larger drug trafficking network operating in the region. The successful operation demonstrates a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the area and the efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat such criminal activities.
