Thousands of protesters gathered in Istanbul for a march organized by the National Will Platform and joined by around 400 civil society organizations to condemn the massacre in Palestine and show support for the Palestinian people. The protesters started their march towards the Galata Bridge after gathering in mosques for morning prayers.
People from all walks of life and from all across Turkey traveled to Istanbul to participate in the march against Israeli oppression in Palestine. They traveled in cars, buses, and on foot to reach mosques and eventually the Galata Bridge in the early hours of the day.
The march, led by the Turkey Youth Foundation (TÜGVA), aimed to raise awareness globally and send a message of support to Palestine with slogans such as “We are awakening the world”, “Yesterday Hagia Sophia, today Umayyad, tomorrow Al-Aqsa”, and “A new sun is rising”. Participants gathered in front of various mosques in Istanbul, including the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque, Sultanahmet Mosque, Fatih Mosque, Süleymaniye Mosque, and Eminönü New Mosque, after performing morning prayers.
The protesters expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their condemnation of Israeli violence during the march in Istanbul. They called for an end to the massacre in Palestine and for global support for the rights of the people in the region, particularly in the wake of recent escalations of violence.
The march in Istanbul aimed to shed light on the suffering of the Palestinian people and to demand an end to the violence and oppression they face. The participants highlighted the importance of standing together in solidarity and raising awareness about the ongoing plight of Palestinians in the face of Israeli aggression.
The National Will Platform and the participating civil society organizations emphasized the need for unity and action to address the injustice and violence in Palestine. They urged the international community to take a stand against the atrocities being committed and to work towards a peaceful resolution and justice for the Palestinian people.
