An ambulance and its healthcare team under the supervision of Muhammed Ali K. were taking 80-year-old N.G., who had suffered a heart attack, from Gemlik State Hospital to Bursa City Hospital for further treatment.
While traveling on the Istanbul-Izmir Highway, the ambulance was allegedly signaled to move aside by a car driver who honked and flashed its lights in the emergency lane.
The driver of the car, identified as S.Y., and his son M.Y. got out of their vehicle and approached the ambulance, claiming that there was no patient inside and the siren was unnecessary. They proceeded to physically assault the ambulance driver.
Despite his injuries, Muhammed Ali K. continued on his route and managed to transport the patient to Bursa City Hospital for treatment.
The injured driver received 12 stitches on his lip and was given a 7-day work disability report. Meanwhile, the father and son duo who attacked him were later arrested by the police.
