A wildfire broke out in the forested area of Yamanlar Karatepe in Izmir a few days ago, spreading to residential and industrial areas. The wind speed is expected to decrease to 30-40 kilometers per hour after 9:00 pm. By 3:00 pm, the temperature is predicted to soar to 36 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing at speeds of 45-55 kilometers per hour from the north-northeast direction, and humidity levels dropping to 20-23 percent.
In the evening, after 9:00 pm, the wind speed in the fire-affected area is anticipated to reduce to 30-40 kilometers per hour. The firefighters and emergency response teams are working tirelessly to bring the wildfire under control, battling against the adverse weather conditions and rugged terrain of the region.
The challenge of combating wildfires in Izmir’s Yamanlar Karatepe region is exacerbated by the extreme weather conditions, with the scorching heat, strong winds, and low humidity levels making it difficult for firefighters to contain the fire.
