The Rolling Stones kicked off their latest tour in Houston, showing no signs of slowing down despite their ages. Frontman Mick Jagger, lead guitarist Keith Richards, and guitarist Ronnie Wood are all in their 70s and 80s, but they played with the energy of a band on their first tour. The tour is sponsored in part by AARP, highlighting the band’s longevity and appeal to fans of all ages. The Stones have been touring for over 60 years and are known for their iconic performances and classic rock hits.

The band is touring in support of their latest album, “Hackney Diamonds,” their first record of original music since 2005. The tour includes 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada, with stops in cities like New Orleans, Philadelphia, and Vancouver. The concert setlist in Houston featured a mix of new tracks like “Angry” and classics like “Sympathy for the Devil,” “Gimme Shelter,” and “Start Me Up.” The band also played unexpected choices like “Rocks Off” and “Out of Time,” showcasing their vast catalog and ability to surprise fans.

Despite the recent death of drummer Charlie Watts, the Stones continue to perform with the core trio of Jagger, Richards, and Wood. The band was backed by various musicians, including a new drummer, backup singers, and a brass section, enhancing their live performance. The concert featured a large collection of video screens projecting images but the focus remained on the band and their timeless music, captivating the audience throughout the two-hour show.

Before the concert, Jagger visited NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, sharing photos on his Instagram account of his tour with astronauts inside Mission Control. The band’s production director expressed confidence that The Rolling Stones are not thinking about retirement and remain enthusiastic about their music and performances. The tour is a testament to the enduring popularity and vitality of the band, as they continue to rock stages around the world with the same passion and energy that has defined their iconic career.

Fans in Houston cheered for their favorite band as The Rolling Stones delivered a memorable performance, blending old hits with new tracks in a show that highlighted their musical prowess and timeless appeal. The energy and excitement of the band on stage belied their age, showcasing their enduring talent and passion for rock ‘n’ roll. As the tour continues across North America, fans can expect more electrifying performances and classic moments that have solidified The Rolling Stones’ legacy as one of the greatest rock bands in history. With a mix of nostalgia and new material, the band continues to attract fans of all generations, proving that true rock ‘n’ roll never dies.
