According to data from the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) 11th Regional Directorate, the total storage capacity of 14 dams in Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ is 1 billion 112 million 968 thousand cubic meters. As of now, these dams are filled with a total of 405 million 302 thousand cubic meters of water. In August, the dams were 40% full, but the water levels have since dropped to 36%. Last year, in October, the dams had a 34% fill rate.

In Edirne, the water level in 6 dams is recorded at 154 million 121 thousand cubic meters, while in Kırklareli, 4 dams hold 95 million 111 thousand cubic meters of water, and in Tekirdağ, 4 dams have a total of 156 million 70 thousand cubic meters of water. This data indicates that the water levels in the dams in all three provinces have decreased over the past month.

The decrease in water levels is concerning as it could potentially lead to water shortages in the region. It is important for authorities to monitor the situation closely and take necessary actions to ensure a stable water supply for the inhabitants of Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ. Drought conditions and increased water consumption during the summer months may have contributed to the drop in water levels in the dams.

Efforts should be made to promote water conservation and efficiency in order to mitigate the impact of decreasing water levels in the dams. Residents and businesses in the region should be encouraged to use water responsibly and to adopt water-saving practices. Additionally, investments in water infrastructure and management systems may be necessary to address water scarcity issues in the long term. It is crucial for all stakeholders to work together to find sustainable solutions to ensure water security in the region.

Authorities are advised to closely monitor the water levels in the dams and to implement strategies to manage water resources effectively. Collaboration between government agencies, local communities, and environmental organizations is essential to address water scarcity issues. By working together, it is possible to develop solutions that will ensure a reliable and sustainable water supply for the residents of Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ. Water is a precious resource that must be protected and managed carefully to meet the needs of both current and future generations.
