The PSOE takes the audio of the PP’s leader in Jaén to the Andalusian Anti-Fraud Office

The Andalusian branch of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) has presented a written complaint to the Andalusian Office against Fraud and Corruption regarding the leak of the criteria for the selection process for the position of manager of the Jaén Transport Consortium by the president of the PP in Jaén and regional parliamentarian, Erik Domínguez. The socialists claim that the controversial audio, revealed by Cadena SER Andalucía, may constitute fraud and corruption, potentially involving influence peddling. The PSOE demands explanations from Juan Manuel Moreno, president of the PP in Andalusia and the Junta de Andalucía, for his silence on these alleged attempts to use public resources to manipulate the selection process.

Spokesperson Josele Aguilar has criticized the PP for allegedly trying to manipulate the selection process by offering the criteria for the competition to former Ciudadanos member Enrique Moreno in exchange for support for the PP. Aguilar accuses the PP of prioritizing party interests over the public good and highlights similar cases in Murcia and Málaga where public resources were allegedly used for political gain. Aguilar also announced that the PSOE would raise questions in the regional parliament to determine who leaked the information and what the intention behind the leak was.

The PSOE in Jaén accuses the PP president of having access to non-public information, such as the criteria for a public competition, which he should not have been privy to as he is not a member of the Jaén Transport Consortium. Additionally, IU coordinator Toni Valero has called for Moreno to provide explanations for this incident, linking it to the PP’s strategy to attract former Ciudadanos members by offering them positions in exchange for support.

Former Ciudadanos member Enrique Moreno, who received offers from the PP, denies any intention of joining the party and dismisses accusations of influence peddling in the selection process for the manager position at the Jaén Transport Consortium. Meanwhile, Domínguez has called for an urgent extraordinary meeting of the PP in Jaén to address the allegations. Domínguez, in a press conference, refutes the accusations against him and shifts the blame to the PSOE, revealing a purported case of favoritism in the selection process for a position at the Jaén County Council involving the recipient of the audio message.

Domínguez accuses the PSOE of manipulating the situation and points to suspicious circumstances surrounding the third-place placement of Enrique Moreno in a recent civil service examination at the Jaén County Council, insinuating possible favoritism towards a relative of a socialist party member who placed second. The situation remains tense as both parties continue to exchange accusations and demand explanations for the alleged misconduct and misuse of public resources in Andalusia. Additional developments are expected as investigations unfold and further details are revealed in the coming days.
