Irish girl group BWitched recently announced their return with new music, releasing an EP titled Ripped Jeans. The group, known for their ’90s hits, consists of Irish twin sisters Edele and Keavy Lynch, Lindsay Armaou, and Sinéad O’Carroll. The EP includes the new single So Into You, showcasing a modern sound while still maintaining the group’s signature vibrancy. Collaborators on the EP include Mondo-Ray, James Lawton, Emily Andrews, and Hamish Brodie. All songs were co-written by Ray Hedges, who worked with BWitched on their previous smash hits.

The Ripped Jeans EP marks BWitched’s first collection of new songs in a decade. The band first rose to fame with the release of their hit single C’est La Vie, followed by several other UK number one hits such as Rollercoaster and Blame It On The Weatherman. Achieving success in the US as well, BWitched toured with artists like N’Sync and Britney Spears. Their popularity continued into the streaming era, with millions of plays on platforms like Spotify. The EP tracklist includes Multiply, My Greatest Little Mistake, and Birthday, offering fans a taste of the group’s return to the music scene.

B*Witched’s journey has seen highs and lows over the years, including a hiatus in 2001 following their split with Sony. In 2012, the group reunited for the ITV2 series The Big Reunion, where they addressed past conflicts and reconciled. Despite challenges, the band’s reunion has been a monumental success, drawing in fans from across the globe. Their recent appearance on Good Morning Britain in denim outfits reminiscent of their early days sparked excitement among longtime supporters.

Individual members of BWitched have pursued different paths over the years, with Edele Lynch recently revealing her transition to an admin job to support her family. The challenges faced by artists in the music industry have led many ’90s bands to reform in search of a familiar and nostalgic escape, with the 90s era being seen as a happy and carefree time for many. BWitched’s return with new music and an EP reflects their enduring appeal and the continued support from their dedicated fanbase.

As listeners eagerly await more music from BWitched, the release of the Ripped Jeans EP signifies a new chapter for the iconic girl group. With fresh sounds and collaborations, the band’s revival showcases their resilience and passion for making music. Their journey from ’90s superstardom to a triumphant comeback demonstrates the enduring power of nostalgia and the universal love for catchy pop music. BWitched’s return is a testament to their influence on the music industry and their ability to connect with audiences across generations.
