The funeral of Memiş Enes Gümüş, who tragically lost his life while on holiday with his family in Antalya when the cable car cabin he was in hit a fallen pole and crashed, was taken from the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute by his relatives. His body was brought to his home in Bağarası Mahallesi in Söke district, where after receiving forgiveness, funeral prayers were held at Karatlı Mahallesi Cemetery before he was buried. The funeral prayer was led by Gümüş’s cousin Yakup Gümüş, who is also an imam.
Among those who attended the funeral were Gümüş’s brother Üzeyir Gümüş, along with other relatives, friends, and neighbors, as well as Deputy Mayor Fuat Evren Gül of Söke Municipality and District National Education Director Şerafettin Yapıcı. Gümüş’s brother mentioned that the last time he saw his brother was on the morning of the first day of the holiday when they exchanged greetings.
The tragic incident took place at the Tünektepe Cable Car Facility in the Konyaaltı district of Antalya, where a falling pole hit a cabin, causing it to crash and leading to the death of Memiş Enes Gümüş. Seven people, including his wife Kezban and children Lütfullah and Fatih Gümüş, who were in the same cabin, were taken to the hospital. Due to the cable car system stopping, 174 people were evacuated from the hanging cabins.
