In Dalaman district of Muğla province, the brave pilots and base personnel serving at the 16th Main Jet Base Command are welcoming the new year in defense of the homeland. The Jet Base Command is one of the most important elements of the Turkish air force, with personnel on duty in jets and UAVs. An AA team accompanied the personnel on duty for a day to witness their tasks.
At the 361st UAV Fleet Command within the Dalaman 16th Main Jet Base Command, the team carried out flights after the final checks of the UAVs. The UAVs were tracked by soldiers at the Ground Control Station. The F-16 fighter jets at the command protect the homeland under the command of pilots, instilling trust in friends and fear in enemies. The “iron eagles” at the base are ready to go on duty at the Alarm Reaction Center.
The final checks of the F-16 fighter jets in the hangars of the base were meticulously carried out by the team in the hangar. After completing flight preparations, the pilots took off and landed back in their duty areas after about an hour-long flight. Hava UAV Officer Lieutenant Yaman, serving at the 361st UAV Fleet Command, expressed that with the UAVs in our inventory made with local and national resources, they will continue to be the guarantor of peace in the sky and sea homeland in 2025.
The maintenance of F-16 fighter jets is carried out by Senior Sergeant Boğazpınar, who stated that they work to fulfill their duties in the best way possible. He mentioned that they are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the blue and sky homeland, using the strength they receive from the nation. Before landing, F-16 pilot Air Pilot Major Yücel emphasized that they will continue to be the guarantor of peace in the sky and sea homeland as the 166th Jet Fleet Command.
Air Traffic Sergeant Senior Sergeant Önal at the tower stated that they are aware of the responsibility they have taken on in defending the homeland, expressing that they are one of the members of the nation who ensures peace, tranquility, and security in the determination and perseverance to fulfill the teachings of the blue and sky homeland. Soldiers and pilots welcomed the new year with vigilance, with family members.
Security Team Commander Sergeant Geldi contacted the family of Airborne Soldier Mustafaoğlu, who was on duty during the new year, to wish them a happy new year. Mustafaoğlu’s mother expressed her happiness and gratitude towards the soldiers and pilots at the base, wishing them a happy new year and sending her love to her son. The emotional conversation between mother and son highlighted the sacrifices and dedication of the personnel at the 16th Main Jet Base Command as they continue to serve their country with pride.
