Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice was involved in a multi-vehicle crash over the weekend in Dallas. His lawyer, Royce West, confirmed that Rice was driving the Lamborghini that was involved in the crash. Rice has cooperated with the police investigation and took full responsibility for his actions in a public apology posted on Instagram. West emphasized that Rice is only 23 years old and should not be judged solely based on this incident. Rice intends to make amends with the victims for any injuries or property damage caused.

The crash occurred on North Central Expressway in Dallas when two speeding drivers lost control and caused a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles. The drivers were in a Corvette and a Lamborghini, and the Lamborghini veered onto the shoulder and hit the expressway’s median wall. Both drivers fled the scene without checking if anyone needed medical help. Two people were treated at the scene, and two others were taken to the hospital. The Lamborghini involved in the crash belonged to a local luxury car rental business, and they are seeking accountability for the damages caused.

The lawyer for the luxury car rental business confirmed that the 2021 Lamborghini Urus involved in the crash was leased to Rice by the company. He stated that there were no previous driving citations or accidents related to Rice renting vehicles in the past. The company is waiting to hear who will pay for the totaled vehicle and is focused on ensuring their business is made whole. Video footage posted on social media by one of the crash victims shows the damage to her vehicle, with her 4-year-old son in the car at the time of the incident.

Attorney Marc C. Lenahan is representing one of the crash victims and assisting another. The victims were driving when they suddenly saw a flash behind them, leading to a T-bone collision. Rice, who was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2023, was part of the team’s Super Bowl victory in February. He grew up in the Dallas area and faces ongoing investigations from Dallas police regarding the crash. Rice is committed to taking responsibility for his actions and ensuring that the victims are made whole as best as possible. The investigation is still ongoing, with detectives working to determine the exact circumstances of the crash and the individuals involved.
