Texas teacher dissatisfied with Biden and Trump, opts to change name to Anyone Else in bid for presidency

Unhappy with the choice between President Biden and former President Donald Trump, a Texas math teacher named Dustin Ebey legally changed his name to “Literally Anybody Else” to run for President. The 35-year-old Army veteran and seventh-grade math teacher filed to run in the general election, hoping to offer voters an alternative to the two main party candidates. He believes that with 300 million people in the country, there must be better options than Trump and Biden.

In order to get on the ballot in Texas, Literally Anybody Else needs to gather 113,151 signatures by May 13. While he acknowledges the challenge of this task, he remains determined to provide voters with an alternative choice. He wore a cap with his new name at a recent Dallas Stars hockey game, seeking signatures from attendees in support of his candidacy as an independent candidate. He believes that there should be an option for people like him who are tired of the constant power struggle between the two main parties.

According to a recent ABC/Ipsos poll, 36% of Americans trust Trump, 33% trust Biden, and 30% trust neither to lead the nation. Therefore, Literally Anybody Else aims to offer voters a candidate they can believe in and support, rather than choosing the lesser of two evils. He considers himself a political centrist with beliefs from both the right and the left, and he hopes to bring a sense of reality to the political discourse by participating in the debate stage.

Literally Anybody Else rejects the idea of having to choose between two candidates who do not fully represent the population. He believes that people have a responsibility to stand up and demand better options for leadership. He hopes to send a message that voters are not hopeless and can make a difference by choosing someone different from the usual candidates. By taking this unconventional step of legally changing his name and running for president, he believes that change is possible.

Critics may see Literally Anybody Else’s campaign as a long shot, given the challenges of gathering enough signatures and standing out in a crowded field of candidates. However, he remains determined to offer voters an alternative choice and to challenge the status quo of American politics. His unconventional approach to the election process may resonate with those who are tired of the same political dynamics and are looking for a fresh perspective. Whether or not Literally Anybody Else succeeds in his quest for the presidency, his campaign serves as a reminder that there are always alternatives to the usual options presented to voters.
