Texans introduce updated H logo on alternate helmets

The Texans have confirmed that they will be wearing an alternate helmet with a new logo this season. The news was revealed after a fan posted an image on social media of an alternate Texans helmet with a light blue H logo. The Texans effectively confirmed the leak by posting a picture of owner Cal McNair wearing a hat with the same logo. The light blue H logo is reminiscent of the blue Houston Oilers uniforms that many Houston fans love, but the rights to these uniforms are owned by the Tennessee Titans. When the Titans wore the Oilers uniforms as throwbacks, many Houston fans were not pleased.

Texans senior vice president of marketing, communications, and ticket sales Doug Vosik stated that the team has been listening to fans about how better to represent the community. Fans have expressed that they want to show pride in their city when wearing Texans gear, and that they love the H symbol. Vosik mentioned that some fans suggested having the H logo on sleeves or the back of jerseys to better incorporate it into the uniform. The team took these suggestions seriously and is working to find ways to incorporate the H identity into their gear.

Many Houston fans have expressed their desire for the Oilers throwback uniforms to belong to Houston, rather than Tennessee. Unfortunately, the franchise left Houston in 1997 and currently belongs to the Titans, who have the rights to the Oilers uniforms. Despite the fans’ wishes, it is unlikely that the Oilers throwbacks will be allowed to belong to Houston. The Texans are working to find ways to incorporate the H logo into their gear and uniforms to better represent the city and its fans.

The light blue H logo on the alternate Texans helmet has sparked excitement among fans who appreciate the nods to the Houston Oilers uniforms of the past. The color and design have been well-received by many fans who see it as a tribute to the former Houston team. However, the fact that the Tennessee Titans own the rights to the Oilers uniforms has created tension among Houston fans who feel a deep connection to the team that once represented their city.

The Texans’ decision to incorporate the H logo into their gear and potentially their uniforms is a response to fan feedback about wanting to better represent the city. Fans have expressed their desire to see the H symbol more prominently displayed on clothing and merchandise to show their pride in Houston. By listening to fans’ suggestions and taking them seriously, the Texans are working to create gear that resonates with the community and makes fans feel a stronger connection to the team.

Despite the challenges of not being able to use the Oilers throwback uniforms, the Texans are focused on finding ways to pay homage to the city’s football history through their gear and uniforms. The new alternate helmet and logo are steps in that direction, with the light blue H representing a nod to the beloved Houston Oilers uniforms. By continuing to listen to fan feedback and incorporating it into their decisions, the Texans are strengthening their bond with the Houston community and creating a sense of pride and unity among fans.
