The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change’s General Directorate of Meteorology weather forecast specialist Mehmet Özdemirci provided insights on the weather forecast for the upcoming week. He highlighted that tonight and tomorrow, temperatures will drop in the inland areas of the country, with Ankara expected to reach 2 degrees Celsius. Some districts and high altitude areas may even experience below-zero temperatures. Özdemirci warned citizens about the risk of frost in the next two days.
Starting from the beginning of the week, thunderstorms are expected to affect the eastern regions, as Özdemirci mentioned that tomorrow’s rainfall will be strong in provinces other than Van and Erzincan. He also stated that the rainfall will continue to have an impact on the eastern region on Tuesday, particularly in the areas surrounding Hakkari, Şırnak, Batman, Siirt, Mardin, and Bingöl, where it will be intense.
Özdemirci specified that temperatures will rise in the western regions of the country from Tuesday onwards, with partly cloudy and less cloudy weather prevailing throughout the week. Currently, temperatures are below seasonal norms, but this is expected to change as the week progresses. He also noted that Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir are likely to experience no rainfall for three days, with mostly partly cloudy and less cloudy conditions prevailing.
Looking ahead, Özdemirci pointed out that after Friday, a new rainfall system will affect the country, leading to a rainy weekend across the entire country. The weather expert emphasized that the upcoming weekend will be characterized by significant rainfall. Overall, citizens are advised to stay informed about weather updates and prepare accordingly for the changing conditions.
