The General Directorate of Meteorology announced that temperatures above seasonal norms will continue to rise across the country, with temperatures expected to be 4 to 6 degrees above normal in Marmara, Aegean and Western Mediterranean regions, and 10 to 15 degrees above normal in Eastern Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, Black Sea, and Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions.

In some cities, the highest expected temperatures are as follows:

“Ankara: 30-32, Istanbul: 24-26, Izmir: 27-29, Kayseri: 31-33, Antalya: 27-29, Adana: 37-38, Bolu: 31-33, Samsun: 28-30, Trabzon: 29-31, Erzurum: 25-27, Diyarbakir: 30-32, Sanliurfa: 35-37, Malatya: 31-33, Kahramanmaras: 33-35, Hatay: 34-36, Osmaniye: 35-37.”

Due to the high temperatures, it is important for individuals with chronic illnesses, the elderly, children, and all citizens to avoid being outdoors during the hottest hours of the day, between 11 am and 4 pm. It is essential to be cautious and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related health issues.

It is crucial for the public to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and use sunscreen during this period of high temperatures. Cities in different regions of Turkey are expected to experience varying degrees of heat, emphasizing the importance of being aware of the weather conditions and taking necessary measures to stay cool and safe.

The General Directorate of Meteorology reminds citizens that extreme heat can have serious health consequences, such as heatstroke and dehydration. It is advised to stay indoors during peak heat hours, keep homes cool with fans or air conditioning, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.

As the temperatures continue to rise above seasonal norms in various regions of Turkey, it is essential for the public to follow the recommendations of the Meteorology General Directorate and take necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy during this period of extreme heat. By staying informed and being proactive in managing the effects of high temperatures, individuals can prevent heat-related health issues and enjoy a safer summer season.
