A heat wave is affecting Turkey as temperatures are 5 to 10 degrees above seasonal norms. Particularly in the Aegean, Southeastern Anatolia, and the western part of Eastern Anatolia, temperatures are expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius. While most of the country is not expecting any rainfall, some regions may experience brief summer showers.

Meteorology General Directorate Weather Forecast Expert Fevzi Burak Tekin stated that on Monday, rainfall is expected in Osmaniye, Kars, Hakkari, Ağrı, Van, and Hatay’s coastal areas. On Tuesday, there may be showers and occasional thunderstorms in Adana, Rize, Ağrı, Van, Hakkari, Trabzon, and Artvin’s coastal regions.

In the 3 major cities of Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, no rainfall is expected for the next three days. Tekin shared that in the capital city, Ankara, temperatures will reach 37 degrees on Monday and Tuesday, and drop to 34 degrees on Wednesday. In Istanbul, temperatures will range from 30 to 32 degrees, while Izmir is expected to have temperatures between 35 and 37 degrees for the next three days.

Some regions in Turkey are experiencing summer showers and temperatures well above seasonal averages due to a heatwave. In Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, rainfall is not expected for the next three days, with soaring temperatures predicted. As the heatwave continues, it is important for residents to take precautions to stay safe and cool during this period. The Meteorology General Directorate is closely monitoring weather conditions and providing updates to ensure the public’s safety.

The extreme heat in Turkey has resulted in temperatures significantly higher than normal, particularly in the western and southeastern regions of the country. Meteorology experts are advising people to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. With temperatures expected to reach over 40 degrees Celsius in some areas, it is crucial for individuals to stay informed about weather forecasts and follow safety recommendations to protect their health.

While some regions may experience summer showers, the forecast for Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir remains dry for the next three days. Residents in these cities are advised to stay indoors during the hottest times of the day, wear light clothing, and keep hydrated to prevent heat exhaustion or heatstroke. As the heatwave continues to impact Turkey, authorities are urging vigilance and awareness to ensure the well-being of the population during this challenging weather conditions.
