A couple of married Taylor Swift fans decided to recreate all of the singer’s album covers after she announced her new record “The Tortured Poets Department” at the Grammys in February. The idea came from Charlie Bird, a self-proclaimed major Swiftie, after Swift’s surprise announcement at the awards ceremony. They had previously dressed up as Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce for Halloween, and the success of that project inspired them to take on this new challenge. The couple documented their journey on YouTube and received positive reactions from their followers when they shared the final results on social media.

The couple’s project involves recreating all 16 years of Taylor Swift’s career, from her debut album “Taylor Swift” in 2006 to her most recent release. They spend several days prepping for each shoot, piecing together outfits from new clothes or items they already own and creating backdrops or scouting nearby locations to match the original album covers. With just a ring light and an iPhone, it takes them six to eight hours a day to complete one album cover. They strive to authentically replicate Swift’s looks and hairstyles, with Ryan embodying the singer’s various iconic appearances.

Both husband Ryan Clifford and Charlie Bird attribute Taylor Swift’s popularity to her relatable lyrics. As a clinical therapist, Charlie has seen clients use Swift’s songs to help them articulate their emotions. He believes that Swift has connected with people on a deep level through her music, teaching them how to express their feelings. Ryan, a digital marketer, agrees and admires Swift’s ability to write meaningful lyrics while retaining her relatable girl-next-door image. The couple attended two concerts during Swift’s Eras Tour last year, with Charlie particularly fond of her “1989” album for its infectious pop sound.

The couple expressed their admiration for Taylor Swift’s growth as an artist and individual, noting how she has taken on challenges and become more resilient over the years. They are grateful for her willingness to share her creative gift with the world, as it has inspired them to be more creative and in touch with themselves. As they prepared to recreate Swift’s newest album cover, they anticipated a fun and lighthearted experience, with plenty of laughter along the way. Charlie humorously imagined how he would react if he ever met Swift in person, emphasizing the impact she has had on his life and creativity. Ultimately, the project is a tribute to Swift’s artistry and the connection she has formed with her fans, including these dedicated Swifties.
