As Brits have just emerged from one of the wettest Aprils on record, they are now set to experience a significant surge in temperatures. Weather maps are turning red as the UK is expected to sizzle in 25C highs in just a matter of days. After seeing 55 per cent more rain than average in parts of the country, the forecast will be a stark contrast from that dreary month. On Sunday, May 12, few locations will see the mercury drop below 15C, while huge swathes of the British isles will sit around the toasty 25C mark. The warmest areas will be along the East Coast, London, and its surrounding counties, with temperatures exceeding 20C also to be seen as far north as Scotland.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast for May 9 to 18 predicted some “very warm days” ahead, with temperatures set to be slightly above normal. A strong signal for high pressure across the UK is expected to bring a good deal of fine and dry weather for most areas, with patchy mist and fog in some places each morning. Northwestern parts are likely to see more in the way of cloud and rain at times. While the forecast was similarly echoed by Netweather, which said that from the middle of next week, the UK will experience warm sunshine. The forecast also looked ahead from May 19 until June 2, with a likelihood of unsettled weather returning despite warm days being expected. Spells of wet weather are likely across the UK, with some locations more prone than others.

The warm weather outlook continues as temperatures are expected to remain slightly above normal for early May, with very warm days predicted. As high pressure builds, England and Wales are set to experience warm and sunny weather with temperatures into the low 20Cs. From May 19 until June 2, there is a chance of unsettled weather returning across the UK, with no specific location being more prone than another. Despite a fairly balanced chance of above or below average temperatures, some warm days are likely. The weather forecast points to a continuation of fine weather through the weekend for most, before a return of less settled conditions during the following week. Temperatures are expected to be slightly above normal, with some very warm days possible.

The change in weather patterns from wet and dreary to warm and sunny signifies a shift in seasons for the UK. With the increasing temperatures, the public will have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and bask in the sun. The Met Office’s forecasts and weather maps from Ventusky illustrate the upcoming surge in temperatures, with the East Coast, London, and surrounding areas set to experience the warmest conditions. As Brits prepare for the shift from cooler, wet weather to sunny days, they can look forward to enjoying the spring and early summer days ahead. Despite fluctuations in temperatures and the possibility of unsettled weather returning in the coming weeks, the immediate outlook shows a significant rise in temperatures and pleasant conditions across the UK.

Overall, Brits can look forward to a warm and sunny spell ahead as the UK experiences a significant surge in temperatures following a wet and dreary April. With weather maps turning red and temperatures reaching as high as 25C in some areas, the public can enjoy the outdoors and embrace the arrival of spring and early summer. Despite the potential for some unsettled weather in the longer term, the immediate forecast points to very warm days and pleasant conditions across the UK. As high pressure builds and fine weather is expected to prevail, Brits can prepare for a shift from cooler, wet conditions to warmer, sunnier days in the weeks ahead.
