Stevie Nicks Pitches Season 2 Idea for ‘Daisy Jones and the Six’ to Reese Witherspoon

Stevie Nicks has pitched an idea for a second season of the hit music drama Daisy Jones & The Six to executive producer Reese Witherspoon and star Riley Keough. The show, based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel loosely inspired by Nicks’ band Fleetwood Mac, originally intended as a limited series, ended with the characters of Daisy and Billy going their separate ways. Nicks suggested a second season exploring what would happen if Billy came back and the two made a final record together, similar to a situation she had hoped for with Fleetwood guitarist Lindsey Buckingham.

Although initially hesitant to watch the show, Nicks ended up enjoying it while recovering from COVID-19. She noted the similarities between Keough’s character and her real-life persona, as well as some differences. Nicks appreciated Keough’s portrayal of a more assertive and arrogant character, something she felt she could not embody in Fleetwood Mac as one of the peacemakers. Despite these differences, Nicks found Keough’s character to be very similar to her.

Nicks also praised the performances of Suki Waterhouse as the McVie-inspired character Karen Sirko, and Sam Claflin as Billy. She noted Waterhouse’s portrayal of Christine McVie in her Englishness and fashion sense, and Claflin’s capturing of Lindsey Buckingham with his curls and dark handsomeness. Nicks found Claflin’s representation of Lindsey unsettling in how accurately he portrayed the musician.

Nicks expressed her desire for a second season of Daisy Jones & The Six, although she acknowledged that everyone involved in the show is currently very busy. She mentioned that Keough is on her way to becoming a big movie star. While discussing the potential second season, Nicks reflected on how watching the show made her rethink the possibility of emulating Fleetwood Mac’s life on screen. She felt that the show depicted a scenario that she had always hoped for but never thought possible.

In conclusion, Stevie Nicks has shared her thoughts on a potential second season of Daisy Jones & The Six, based on her interest in exploring a storyline that mirrors her own experiences with Fleetwood Mac. Despite some initial reservations, Nicks ended up enjoying the show and appreciated the performances of the cast portraying characters inspired by her bandmates. She praised Keough for her portrayal of a character similar to herself while acknowledging some differences in their personalities. Nicks also commended Waterhouse and Claflin for their performances in the show. Although a second season may be challenging due to the busy schedules of those involved, Nicks remains hopeful that it may come to fruition in the future.
