The encounter occurred during a visit to Trump Tower with Epstein, where Williams alleges that Trump began groping her, touching her breasts, waist, and butt as she froze in shock. She described feeling deeply confused and humiliated as the two men continued to engage in conversation. Williams recalled Epstein’s reaction afterwards, blaming her and questioning why she allowed Trump’s actions. Following the incident, Williams received a postcard from Trump addressed to her modeling agency, creating further shame and reluctance to speak out.
Despite confiding in friends over the years about the incident, Williams chose not to report it to the police and never encountered Trump again. She attributed her delayed decision to speak out to feelings of shame and self-blame. Williams’ admission comes in the context of other allegations of sexual misconduct against Trump, including those made by former columnist E. Jean Carroll. The timing of Williams’ revelation, just before the election and during early voting, has raised questions about the potential impact on Trump’s campaign.
Williams’ decision to share her story was partly influenced by the premiere of a film in which she discussed being groped by a former president in front of Epstein, without naming Trump. Learning about the film’s screenings prompted her to provide more context to her story. Through a friend, she was connected with the “Survivors for Kamala” call, aligning with others who have spoken out about their experiences with sexual violence. Williams expressed a growing comfort in discussing her experience, emphasizing the harm caused by sexual assault.
The allegation against Trump marks the first accusation of sexual misconduct involving Epstein made publicly. Epstein, who pled guilty to procuring a minor for prostitution, had a known association with Trump and other high-profile individuals.
