The court previously rejected a request for emergency measures against Germany, but the case will continue on its merits. The bombardment and ground offensives by Israel have resulted in the death of over 34,800 Palestinians, with much destruction in Gaza and a large portion of the population being displaced from their homes. The U.N. has warned that northern Gaza is facing a full-blown famine.
